Notebook Platformer!!
Stuck? See the walkthrough
"Ever thought what that lil doodle-man in your notebooks was going through?"
A stickman, made of blue ink on paper.
What trials must you pass before you face the reaper?
The red demon rears its shapeless head.
O stickman, will you never dread?
"One savior", claims the princess of pixels.
Hero, do you find in these words duty's epistles?
The music-makers of the notebook sing a stringent chord.
Can you hear them invoking their one and only lord?
Boredom carves its way into the lives of all.
Are you the one who will rise up and fight its call?
Witness your peers shivering in fright.
Pressing 'c' might help alleviate their plight! (Press C wherever you see the green arrows (I cannot stress this point enough (yeah I know there were like 10874 better ways to end this poem)))
How to Play
Arrow keys to move, UP to jump E to enter doors C/X/SPACE to navigate textboxes (Windows) ESC to exit anytime when game is not loading D to restart the level
Notes
The only instance gen AI was used in the creation of the game was to upscale the pictures of the notebook which make up the levels (no way can my phone camera capture that level of detail).
I've also offered a Desktop version for those of you who don't want to/can't play on the browser which you can download below. I personally prefer the Web version but the only major differences are a beep sound during Loading, and prompts for pressing [ESC] to close the game.
You can find the soundtrack for the game here:
Future Update plans
15 more levels in two more notebooks, dual endings, making every level file into a dynamic GIF as opposed to a still PNG, slope collision physics improvements, a universal death counter, level select screens, better hitboxes and more!
If you enjoyed, please leave a (good) rating and a comment!
and if you really didn't like it I promise I'll make it better with the next update, and meanwhile maybe tell me where I can improve? 🥺

The idea of the game is really fun, and all the sketches and drawings on the sheets look great! One thing to look at is the hitboxes: I recommend making the deadly ones significantly smaller, because sometimes it feels like you die without touching them, even though you actually did.
Actively working on improving the hitboxes - essentially making the player's hitbox tighter and, as you said, making the ones most could die on easily a bit more forgiving. So expect the next version to be more playable in that respect
And thanks for the comment and the valuable feedback! Glad you enjoyed my game 💯
Edit: Hope the hitboxes are no longer a problem, let me know if they still are though, I'll get a better fix working
cool, cool. some hitboxes are weird though :)
Thanks for stopping by! I'll probably re-think my approach to creating hitboxes in the next update - for now, in case it's wonky at times you can press "H" to see the hitboxes 🙏 (debug mode feature)
Edit: Fixed the hitboxes, let me know if it's still a problem; I'll make a better fix
